AngelsBerry - New Friendship

<InakaHyuuga>Berrypaw padded out of Iceclan's camp, a slight limp in her walk. Splitabyss had taken her battle training, and he had been really rough with her. Her whole body ached, but mostly her paws. She wanted to rest, but the camp was too noisy at this time of day. So she had decided to take a walk and find somewhere peaceful to rest a while. She didn't know much about the territory, since her mentor hadn't shown it to her yet, so she headed in a random direction, letting her mind wander as she walked.

<rosaliewolf>Paws padded quietly towards the mountain. Shardstrike had asked the older apprentice to go scout and see how far they were away from some things. Her nose twitched as the scent started to become strong. Iceclan... So we are close to the Iceclan border.. she thought to herself with a small sigh. Her pelt prickled slightly as she looked around to make sure no patrol was near. Seeing as there was no patrol, she dared to venture into the territory.

<InakaHyuuga>Berrypaw stopped at the top of a steep cliff, looking down. The area below her was a forest. "Must be one of the other clan's territories." She murmured. Walking along the cliff, she soon found that it sloped downward. After walking a long way, she sat down, frowning because of the pain in her paws. She was about to start licking her paw pads to soothe them when she smelled something. Standing back up, she scented the air. It was another cat, but it didn't smell familiar. A cat from a different clan. Berrypaw blinked curiously, looking around for the other cat.

<rosaliewolf>Her paws carried her through the forest. She stopped. A cliff... That was what was in her way. She lifted her head to stare up it. How can cats stand to live on these cliffs... she thought to herself with a sigh. Her tail twitching as she kicked some dirt. Her eyes looking around to see what else was around her. Her nose twitched as the scent of the Iceclan cats surrounded her. What was she going to tell Shardstrike? That she had ran into a patrol and thats how she got their scent on her..... I might have to roll in some garlic to get the scent off of me she sighed.

<InakaHyuuga>Berrypaw padded closer to where she thought the scent was coming from. Her whiskers twitched curiously. Finally, she saw a tall boulder and scrabbled up it, perching herself on the top and looking down at her surroundings. "There." She muttered quietly, spotting the cat. It was a young she-cat by the looks of it, and also older and stronger than Berrypaw. She shifted nervously, wondering if this cat would be hostile if she confronted her.

<rosaliewolf>The she-cat twitched her whiskers, immediatly being able to scent the stronger Iceclan scent that just showed up. Padding around and sniffing the air. She lifted her head up to see the cat. A young apprentice. Probably just became one too. She twitched her whiskers with some interest and smiled sweetly. Normally a cat would have immediatly run her off. "You havent learned how to be sneaky yet have you?" she called out to the apprentice. Her tail tip twitching every now and again.

<InakaHyuuga>Berrypaw started when the other cat looked directly at her and spoke, actually slipping off of the rock in her haste. She fell to the ground with a thud and a groan, sitting up slowly and shaking her head. "Uh...what? How did you know I was there?" She asked in confusion, flattening her ears as she looked over at Angelspaw.

<rosaliewolf>Angelspaw laughed before walking over to the she-cat. Looking her over with her eyes to make sure she was okay. "Im close to becoming a warrior, I have had alot more experience and training then you have had" she chuckled and smiled at the she-cat. Her tail twitching. "So. Whats your name young one?"

<InakaHyuuga>Berrypaw sighed and stood up. "Oh..." She meowed quietly. She had to look up to see the other cat's face. 'Either I'm short, or she's tall. Or both.' She thought to herself. "I'm Berrypaw." She answered, flicking her tail. "And I only became an apprentice a few days ago." Suddenly remembering that this cat was from another clan, she frowned. "Who are you, and why are you here, anyway?" She asked.

<rosaliewolf>Angelspaw twitched her whiskers in amusement as she smiled. "Names Angelspaw. Im from Earthclan" she responded. "However, recently our clan was driven out of our territory by these large beasts called bears. Got some scars from them" she smiled and turned to her side so that the apprentice could see the areas where her fur was shorter then the rest. "Our deputy asked me to see how close we were to the other clans. Guess i just wandered in too far" she chuckled.

<InakaHyuuga>Berrypaw's eyes widened when she saw the scarred area on Angelspaw's back. "Oh..." She mumbled. "I'm sorry." She tilted her head. "Oh yeah, I heard about the bears from some warriors when I was still a kit. What are they like? They sound scary." She looked at the other apprentice curiously as she asked the question, amazed that she was talking to an Earthclan cat. 'Wow...the got a mission from the deputy...she must be pretty important!' She young she-cat thought to herself.

<rosaliewolf>Angelspaw twitched her whiskers in amusement again but smiled down at the younger apprentice. "They are. They are huge beasts, bigger then Monsters" she crouched down. "And. They have paws almost as big as you. Their jaws could snap you up and swallow you whole" she twitched her ears and looked around. "Five claws on each paw. Horrible beasts they are. Despite their size, they can run really fast. Faster then our fastest warrior"

<InakaHyuuga>Berrypaw shivered, imagining the bears from what Angelspaw had said. "Swallow me...whole?" She murmured, her eyes wide. She looked over at the forest beyond them, flattening her ears again. "I hope I never see one..." She mewed. Looking up at Angelspaw with newfound respect, she added, "It must have been scary to be chased by one. How did you get away?"

<rosaliewolf>"How did i get away?" Angelspaw twitched her ears before laying down with her head up. Blinking as she tried to remember how she had gotten away. "I was just running. Our leader had ordered us to leave... And we all evacuated. My only family lived in another clan. So i had no one else to worry about.... Along the way, i eventually got caught by one of the bears. It had hit my back. I was about ready to give up before one of the older queens in our clan found me... one of her dead kits in her mouth. I then knew... I had to stay alive, to protect my clanmates" she murmered.

<InakaHyuuga>Berrypaw sat down as she listened to Angelspaw. Her eyes got even wider then before, shocked by the story. "So cats were killed..." She mewed softly. "I'm sorry to hear that..." She tried to imagine how she would feel if one of her clan mates died. She didn't like the feeling. She was interested when the other apprentice mentioned family in another clan. "Your family is in a different clan? How did that happen?" She asked, twitching her whiskers.

<rosaliewolf>"Risingpaw got upset when she was held back from becoming an apprentice.... So she decided to leave the clan" Angelspaw let out a small sigh. "our parents are dead and its just the two of us... But i still care about her and i respect her desision to leave the clan. Earthclan just wasnt right for her. She joined the clan that our mother lived in" she smiled. "But anyways, enough talk about me~ How much have you learned from your mentor? This early into Apprenticeship, he or she should be teaching you the borders and how to hunt. Those are the two most important things that need to be remembered."

<InakaHyuuga>"Oh, I see." She meowed. Tilting her head thoughtfully, she mewed, "I think my parents are dead too. I've never met my mother, but I've met a cat in my dreams who says he's my father..." She looked at Angelspaw, confused. "Oh...my mentor's only taught me battle training so far. But I'm sure we'll get around to that stuff sooner or later." She mumbled. 'Probably later, according to what he said...' She added silently to herself, remembering what he had said to her earlier.

<rosaliewolf>"mmm I guess he thinks you need to know how to fight... Well i wouldnt know that much about this lands territory and what is needed~" she chuckled. "I could help teach you if you want. Well.... not the borders, but Hunting im good at!" She laughed. "I also met a tom in my dreams. My father. He often shows up out of nowhere as well. We never truly met out parents when they were alive, but I have met both of them as spirits" she beamed.

<InakaHyuuga>Berrypaw nodded. "I guess." She mumbled. Looking up, she smiled. "Oh, that would be great! I'd really appreciate it!" She purred. "And that sounds similar to me, except I've only met my father. I've always wondered who my mother is..." She sighed, her ears twitching back a little. "It'd be nice to at least know her name."

<rosaliewolf>Angelspaw twitched her ears before standing up. "Yes~ It would be" she chuckled. "You could try asking your father about it the next time you see him" she grinned before walking over to her. "Alright~ Have you seen how some of the apprentices where you live do the hunters crouch?"

<InakaHyuuga>"Yeah...maybe I will ask him." She mewed. She thought for a moment, then nodded. "Yeah...I think so." She dropped into a crouch, her tail slightly lower than the rest of her body. "Like this?" She asked, looking up at Angelspaw. She realized that the two clans probably hunted differently, but she hoped the crouch was pretty much the same.

<rosaliewolf>Angelspaw twitched her whiskers before walking over to Berrypaw. Circling around the she-cat. Looking her form over. "hmmm It is a bit different then ours, but i see now what it would be used for. Birds. You hunt birds mostly. So then this would need to happen." she smiled and pulled Berrypaw's tail up some.

<InakaHyuuga>Berrypaw nodded, keeping her tail at the height it had been adjusted to. "Do you think there are any birds around here?" She asked, looking around. She couldn't see any, but she had never hunted before, she she didn't know whee they liked to perch.

<rosaliewolf>Angelspaw nodded. "Yes. Theres some up in that tree" she nodded her head towards a large tree. Her tail twitching. "Most birds live down here in the trees"

<InakaHyuuga>Berrypaw looked over at the tree, blinking. "Should I try to catch one?" She asked, still unsure of herself. "What if it gets away?"

<rosaliewolf>"Go ahead and try~ Dont worry about that" she chuckled.

<InakaHyuuga>Berrypaw nodded again, gulping before stalking off toward the tree. She didn't blend in very well, so she hoped that the birds didn't see her. Stopped near the bottom of the tree, she looked up, seeing a robin on one of the lower branches, luckily facing away from her. She tried to be as stealthy as possible as she climbed up the tree. Eyes fixed on the bird, she made a leap onto the branch. The robin and the other birds flew off, but Berrypaw growled and leaped again, claws slicing the robin's wing. They both fell to the ground, and Berrypaw quickly stood up and killed the robin before it could try to get away again. Falling from the tree had made her sore again, and she groaned as she padded back over to Angelspaw.

<rosaliewolf>Angelspaw felt a grin come to her face. "Good job! Most apprentices dont catch something on their first try" she chuckled, padding over to her. "Although, you will need some help with the way you get up there~ And your Stealthyness"

<InakaHyuuga>Berrypaw didn't look convinced. "I barely caught it. And I fell out of the tree..." She sighed. "My mentor wouldn't have been impressed, that's for sure."

<rosaliewolf>Angelspaw chuckled. "Its fine. Its your first time" she smiled.

<InakaHyuuga>Berrypaw nodded. "Yeah...I guess." She mewed. Looking up at the sky, she realized that she sun was starting to set. "I should probably go back now, or they'll start to wonder where I am." She sighed. "Do you think we could meet again tomorrow, so you can show me some more stuff?" She asked, looking hopeful.

<rosaliewolf>Angelspaw smiled. "Of course~" she chuckled "Meet here then~ Dont know when i will be able to get here. But i shall try" and with that, the she-cat took off into the woods.

<InakaHyuuga>Berrypaw nodded. "Okay!"She purred, watching the Earthclan apprentice run off before picking up her robin and hurrying back toward her own home.
